Who we are

RocketAir LLC (“RocketAir,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a design and technology studio based in New York, NY. This Privacy Policy applies to rocketair.com and any page that links to it (together, the “Site”), and to information you share with us when you contact us, subscribe to our newsletter, or apply to join the team.

It does not cover information we handle on behalf of clients during an engagement. That work is governed by our agreement with each client.

Information we collect

Information you give us

Most of what we know about you is what you choose to tell us, for example:

  • Contact details, such as your name, email address, and company.
  • Project details, such as your budget range and the message you send us.
  • Application materials, such as your portfolio or LinkedIn link, your résumé, and anything else you share when you apply to join the team.
  • Press details, such as the publication you write for and what your request is about.
  • Your email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter.
  • Anything you include when you email us directly.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, our hosting and security providers automatically receive standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the page that referred you, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. We use it to keep the Site running, secure, and fast.

Information from others

We may receive information about you from people who refer you to us, from public sources such as your professional profile, or from partners we work with on a project.

How we use it

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to your inquiry and talk with you about a potential project.
  • Review applications and get in touch about roles at RocketAir.
  • Send our newsletter if you subscribe. Every issue includes a way to unsubscribe.
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site, including protecting our forms from spam and abuse.
  • Understand, in aggregate, how people find and use the Site.
  • Comply with our legal obligations, enforce our terms, and protect the rights, safety, and property of RocketAir and others.

We do not use your personal information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Legal bases

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal information on the following legal bases:

  • Consent, for example when you subscribe to our newsletter. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • Legitimate interests, such as responding to inquiries, reviewing applications, and keeping the Site secure, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, such as preparing a proposal.
  • Legal obligation, where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.

How we share it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only as follows:

  • Service providers that help us run the studio and the Site, such as website hosting and form handling, security and spam prevention, and email and file storage. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
  • Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, who are bound by duties of confidentiality.
  • Authorities and others, where the law requires it or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or property.
  • A successor business, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of RocketAir, subject to this policy.
  • Anyone else, with your consent or at your direction.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files your browser stores on your device. We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies that the Site needs to work and stay secure, for example to protect our forms from spam. We may also use analytics tools to understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used. We do not use advertising cookies.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before setting cookies that are not essential.

There is no common standard for “Do Not Track” browser signals, so the Site does not respond to them. Where the law requires it, we honor Global Privacy Control signals.

Job applicants

If you apply to join the team, we use your application to assess your fit for current and future roles, to contact you, and, if you join us, to set up your employment or engagement. We keep applications for up to two years so we can consider you for future openings, unless you ask us to delete yours sooner.

Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including to meet legal, accounting, and reporting requirements. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Please don’t send us sensitive information, such as government ID numbers or health or financial details, through our forms or by email.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Delete your information.
  • Object to or restrict certain uses, or withdraw your consent.
  • Receive your information in a portable format.
  • Exercise these rights without being treated differently.

To make a request, email hello@rocketair.com. We may need to verify your identity before we respond, and we will respond within the time the law requires. You may also authorize an agent to make a request for you. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

California residents

In the past 12 months we have collected the categories of information described under Information we collect: identifiers such as your name and email address, professional or employment-related information, and internet activity such as how you use the Site. We use them for the purposes described under How we use it. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law, and we do not knowingly sell or share the information of anyone under 16.

Unsubscribing

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time with the link in any issue, or by writing to us.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the US and in other countries. When we transfer personal information from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

The Site is meant for a professional audience and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Other websites

The Site links to other websites and services, such as social networks and the work we have made for clients. Their privacy practices are their own, and we encourage you to read their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will give you more prominent notice.
